High Tea at 'La Tea Da' in Tillamook Oregon

Vacations are such fun, and are especially delightful if you find a new tea shop.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the best high tea I have ever indulged in at La Tea Da in Tillamook, Oregon.

You might ask yourself, 'A High Tea on the Oregon Coast? What's with that?' Well, ladies and gentlemen these folks know how to make the experience as special as you could possibly imagine.

Fresh and lovely.
The table is set with real linen clothes and napkins, water and Demerara sugar.
Silverware is miniature to suit the occasion.
(All items a must in my book for a proper presentation.)

The setting is calming with a view to the street and soft music.
Acoustics are great for conversation and
tables are spaced far apart for easy access and privacy.

Tea is loose and served with a strainer.
I indulged in Scottish Breakfast, but there are a plethora of choices.

First course was a delightfully cleansing raspberry sorbet in a delicate little cup.

Plates were brought, which almost made me sorry
I gave away my mother's milk glass collection.

We each were given our own three-tiered tray.
No sharing in this establishment.
Savories included (top proceeding clockwise):
Egg Salad on dark bread, Pear and Cheese on raisin bread,
Multi-layered Cheese, cucumber, & ham,
Sharp cheddar on  sesame seed bread,
Sausage roll, and Artichoke mini quiche.

A Cheddar and a Marionberry Scone served
with Devonshire cream, Lemon curd and Raspberry jam.

The final course, the Sweets:
(top moving clockwise)
Raspberry sponge roll,
Key Lime pie (the one with the strawberry slice on top),
Sliced Pineapple and Orange, Coconut shortbread cookie,
and Chocolate mouse cupcake.

In addition to the scrumptious food and excellent service, they have a tempting gift shop attached to the tea room where you can stroll and purchase tea, tea accoutrements, and gifts.

I suggest you have reservations. We went on a weekday and it was not difficult to obtain seating, but they are jam packed on Saturday's, especially during the tourist season.
